 The informal sector of Pakistan's business industry comprises 60 percent women, they are leading their lives in extremely tough living conditions and are being exploited by industrialists by means of low wages and less earnings", she added.

Giving details of the hardships that women of informal sector are facing in Pakistan, she said that informal sector is composed of majority of women who carry out manual work like stitching and sewing. However, the daily wages being offered to them are Rs 27 compared to non-home-based daily wages of Rs 58. "This is stark injustice, the big guns and business tycoons, to accumulate maximum profit are saving money in very brutal way. The clothes that these skillful women stitch are sold by industrialists with maximum profit but these women are struggling to make survival out of it", she added.

Mubina revealed that the entire families of the home-based women are involved in this work and there are colonies of home-based workers in several rural areas of Pakistan. "These poor people work from dawn to dusk only to get meals twice a day, nothing else".
